Anuj Gupta is the Managing Director (India) at BowerGroupAsia, where he leads the firm’s India practice and advises global corporations on navigating the country’s complex policy, regulatory, and investment landscape. A distinguished policy strategist with over two decades of experience across government, consulting, and corporate leadership, he operates at the intersection of public policy, geopolitics, and business strategy—helping organizations align their growth ambitions with India’s rapidly evolving economic framework.

In his current role, Gupta works closely with multinational companies, investors, and industry stakeholders to unlock opportunities arising from India’s economic expansion, trade realignments, and supply chain diversification. He is particularly known for enabling clients to leverage policy shifts, regulatory reforms, and geopolitical developments to build long-term market strategies in India and across the Indo-Pacific region.

Prior to joining BowerGroupAsia, he led public policy initiatives for the Tata Group, where he advised over 30 group companies across sectors such as technology, finance, and manufacturing—shaping high-impact policy outcomes and regulatory strategies. His earlier career includes nearly a decade in government, both in India and internationally. Notably, he served as Chief of Staff to India’s Commerce and Industry Minister, where he played a key role in major national initiatives such as production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes, trade negotiations with global economies, and efforts to improve ease of doing business.

Gupta has also contributed to shaping India’s global economic positioning—supporting policies that enhanced foreign direct investment inflows, strengthened manufacturing competitiveness, and accelerated renewable energy adoption. His work reflects a deep understanding of how policy frameworks can drive economic transformation and industrial growth.

Earlier in his career, he spent close to a decade in management consulting with firms such as KPMG and Strategy&, where he led strategy and implementation projects across Asia and Africa, building expertise in market entry, operational transformation, and corporate strategy.

Academically, he holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, complemented by international exposure at Texas A&M University.
