Dr. Manoj Choudhary is an accomplished academic leader, technologist, and strategic innovator, serving as the Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV)—India’s first central university exclusively dedicated to the transportation, logistics, and infrastructure sectors under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. Established through an Act of Parliament in 2022, GSV’s mission is to create world-class talent and research capabilities spanning railways, shipping, ports, highways, aviation, waterways, and broader supply-chain systems, advancing both education and national development priorities.

Prof. Choudhary holds a Ph.D. in Communication Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from MBM Engineering College (Jodhpur). Before his current role at GSV, he built a strong career in both academia and industry, including service as a professor of electrical engineering at IIT Jodhpur, where he also held leadership responsibilities such as dean of international relations, alumni relations, and corporate relations.

Prior to his academic tenure, Dr. Choudhary amassed significant corporate experience as a senior technologist and business leader with global semiconductor and electronics firms, including Samsung Electronics and Texas Instruments, where he led R&D units and contributed to key innovations in communication and system-on-chip technologies. He is recognized for his contributions to international technology standards, holds numerous patents, and has been invited as a speaker at prominent industry forums.

At Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Dr. Choudhary guides strategic collaborations with leading global organizations—such as Airbus, Amazon, DRDO, and Monash University—to enhance curriculum relevance, research output, and industry-academia synergy that directly supports India’s logistics and transport ecosystems. His work exemplifies a commitment to innovation-led education, multidisciplinary research, and talent development critical to the nation’s infrastructure goals.

Dr. Choudhary also contributes to national technology missions: he is an invited member of India’s 5G & 6G Task Force (Department of Telecom), serves on the Management Council of the Semiconductor Laboratory (Ministry of Electronics & IT), and is an Independent Director on the board of Jodhpur Discom—reflecting his broad influence spanning academia, industry, and public policy.
