Centre for Driver relationship management CDRM

Founder

Ramesh Kumar is a dedicated advocate for commercial driver welfare, road safety, and professional excellence in India’s logistics ecosystem, best known as the founder of the Centre for Driver Relationship Management (CDRM)—an organization committed to improving the lives, recognition, and safety culture of commercial fleet drivers across the country. Through CDRM, he has championed initiatives that uplift driver professionalism, address behavioural and safety challenges on Indian roads, and strengthen the social and economic standing of truckers who form the backbone of the nation’s supply chains

Drawing on his deep understanding of the trucking community—cultivated through extensive travel over Indian highways, including tens of thousands of kilometers spent alongside drivers—Ramesh has been a powerful voice for driver welfare, empathy, and respect. Under his leadership, CDRM has launched impactful programs such as Smart Driver Awards, which recognize outstanding professionalism and safety standards among fleet drivers in partnership with leading industry technology partners like Netradyne, and has delivered Smart Driver Training to tens of thousands of drivers focused on behavioral skills beyond traditional defensive driving.

Ramesh is also the founder and editor of Drivers DUNIYA—India’s only English quarterly magazine dedicated to long-haul truck drivers, designed to bridge the gap between drivers, fleet owners, and the broader logistics community while fostering a culture of pride, professionalism, and well-being among drivers and their families. His ground-up programs also include the Highway Dhaba Adoption Program, driver restroom facilities at factory gates, village-outreach Parivar Connect initiatives, and collaborative counselling assignments with fleet companies—all aimed at strengthening driver-employer relationships and enhancing overall welfare.
