Sandesh Bambolkar is a seasoned and strategic supply chain leader with over 30 years of cross-industry experience in the consumer goods and pharmaceutical sectors. He currently serves as President of Supply Chain Management at Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd., one of India’s largest and most dynamic Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) that delivers high-quality pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetic formulations at a global scale. Akums has developed more than 4,100 commercialized formulations across 60+ dosage forms and operates with state-of-the-art manufacturing and R&D facilities to drive innovation and supply-chain excellence in healthcare solutions.

In his leadership role, Sandesh is responsible for orchestrating Akums’ end-to-end supply chain strategy and logistics operations that underpin the company’s robust manufacturing and distribution ecosystem. His remit includes enhancing global sourcing capabilities, optimizing procurement, and driving operational excellence that supports delivery performance, cost efficiency, and responsiveness to market dynamics—essential for a pharma organization whose products reach clients in India and overseas.

Before joining Akums in December 2022, Sandesh held senior roles in global supply chain and procurement functions, including Senior Vice President – Global Sourcing and Contract Manufacturing at Lupin, and earlier leadership in raw-material procurement and logistics—experiences that have shaped his deep expertise in sourcing transformation, supplier network optimization, and cross-border operational planning.

Educationally, Sandesh holds a PGDBM in Operations & Marketing from S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Surat, reflecting a strong foundation in technical, operational, and strategic management.
