Sanjay Bhutani is the Managing Director for India and SAARC at Bausch + Lomb, where he leads the company’s strategic growth, market expansion, and business transformation across one of its most important emerging markets. With a career spanning more than three decades, he has played a defining role in strengthening the company’s leadership position in vision care while also diversifying its portfolio into new high-growth segments such as aesthetics and dermatology.

Having joined Bausch + Lomb in 2006, Bhutani has steadily progressed through key leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer and Regional Finance Director for Asia Pacific, before taking over as Managing Director for India and SAARC in 2013. His leadership has been marked by a strong focus on expanding market reach, strengthening distribution networks, and driving product innovation tailored to the Indian market. Under his guidance, the company has significantly deepened its presence across tier-2 and tier-3 cities, scaling its retail footprint and improving accessibility to eye care solutions.

Bhutani has also been instrumental in steering the company’s entry into adjacent segments, including aesthetic and skin care solutions, positioning Bausch + Lomb as a broader health and wellness player beyond its core contact lens and surgical ophthalmology businesses. Before joining Bausch + Lomb, he held senior roles at organizations such as Schlumberger India and Brightpoint India, where he built deep expertise in finance, corporate governance, and operational management. Academically, he is a management professional with advanced qualifications in finance and law, including an LLB from Delhi University, professional certifications from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and executive education from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
