Sukanta Pandit is a seasoned logistics and supply chain professional who serves as Vice President and Head – Shipping Logistics at Hindalco Industries Limited, the flagship metals company of the Aditya Birla Group and one of the world’s leading producers of aluminium and copper. In this role, he is responsible for managing the company’s global shipping and export-import logistics operations, ensuring the efficient movement of raw materials and finished metal products across international markets and complex supply networks.

With extensive experience in logistics management and supply chain strategy, Pandit plays a critical role in strengthening Hindalco’s shipping infrastructure, port operations, and multimodal logistics capabilities. His responsibilities include overseeing ocean freight management, export-import coordination, container logistics, and collaboration with shipping lines and port authorities to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery across global trade routes. By aligning shipping logistics with the company’s broader supply chain strategy, he supports operational continuity for one of the world’s largest aluminium rolling and recycling businesses.

Prior to his current leadership position, Pandit built significant experience across the logistics and transportation ecosystem, including senior roles in supply chain and logistics management within the Aditya Birla Group. His work has focused on developing efficient freight networks, improving supply chain visibility, and strengthening strategic partnerships with logistics service providers and shipping stakeholders to enhance operational resilience in an increasingly complex global trade environment.
